Trial FlightThe first step is to get airborne with one of our friendly instructors for a hands on trail flight. During this 30min flight over the Hunter Valley you fly the plane.
What does a Recreational Pilot Licence let me do?Fly a single-engine RA-Aus registered aircraft up to 600kg, up to 2 seats, during the day, within 25 nautical miles.
What is Dual Control? All our aircraft are dual control. This means that both you in the left hand (command seat) and the instructor in the right hand seat have a yoke and rudder pedals. This allows you to follow along as your instructor introduces new skills and allows the instructor to touch up any errors.
Your journey to become a pilot consist flight training, aviation theory, exams and a flight test. Along the way there are plenty of exciting milestones to mark your progress.
Although the legal minimum hours of flying is 20hrs to achieve your Recreational Pilot Certificate, a more realistic expectation is completion in 25 – 30 hrs. It’s all comes down to how quickly you pick it up.
